Reflection Prompts: November 2021

Hi! I’m Anastasia Wasko. Thanks for visiting my blog, The Practice. I’ve got this transformation thing down to a practice: self reflection, creative expression, and thinking ’bout the world as energy. My practice is how I can show up for life, be authentic, and get through whatever I need to get through. My practice is how I write my own story. So make yourself a fresh cuppa and pull up. I’ll share some things to think about, learn, and do. Spend time with me in my world and you’ll change for realz. BTW: I love tattoos and coffee.

Reflection Prompts: November 2021

The skin shedding begins—

The month starts with holidays, or days of observances. All Saints’ Day (following Halloween on the last day of October) and All Souls’ Day initiate a contemplative time. A remembrance. What is up for reflection? What is in the mirror? The lives of the dead.

Consider the contemplative nature of the first week of November, a time during which many cultures honor the “thinning of the veil,” or the division between the material and nonmaterial, the living and the dead. When you look in the mirror, both literally and figuratively around you, what do you see? Ghosts of people whom you have known in the past? Ghosts of yourself? Or do you see shadow, the unconscious parts of your personality (that you often don’t see)?

Remember the journey that led you here. In October, several planets went direct after several months retrograde. Mars (will) enters Scorpio on October 30. Are you fired up around the transformation you seek? Neptune (transpersonal love) goes direct on November 1 and then Mercury enters Scorpio on November 5 (a day after the new moon in Scorpio).

There are many reasons to keep skeletons in the closet, but now is not the time. The ghosts are banging on the door.

Time is NOW for you to be all in, ie, fully present. so you can interact with the most agency.

The sun and moon opposite Uranus on the new moon adds a breakthrough element to the start of the lunar cycle. A great practice is being quiet and listening or calling in your higher self around the new moon so you can tune in to the energies and themes relative to the sign the moon appears in (and are available to work with). This new moon, a listening practice is especially potent so you can hear what the shadow is holding. The breakthrough may be loud or subtle but either way, is available for you to work with over the next four weeks. Is your shadow full of old selves? Don’t let them haunt you. Love them for who they were and the lessons they brought, then set them free.

Scorpio season sees eclipse season and raises you the opportunity to embrace the living, the body. The full moon in Taurus on November 19 can illuminate your ability to source self, source agency by being utterly free and present. This eclipse is the first in a series of eclipses that happen on the Taurus-Scorpio axis. Self esteem and self reliance on one end of the pole and personal magnetism on the other—this is where your shadow has clear and that which is in alignment with your higher self constellates around you with ease.

Reflections…

  • How far back must you go in yourself to connect with a version of you who was joyful, free, and self confident?
  • Do you have soul memories (from previous lifetimes) of being joyful?
  • Do you spend more time present than not?

Whether you’re exploring your inner world or the simply idea that there is some correlation between the celestial activity and your experience, be kind to yourself. Track your experiences throughout the month. Each contain a spark to explore, express, and evolve a part of your being.
